Making Planes with Mr B.

Last Thursday Room1 made planes with Mr B and they flew really well. We needed bluetack to muck around with and then see if it flies where we put the bluetack. What we need when we make our planes were..... plastic, paper clips, brown tape and cellotape. How we made our planes was... first get a piece of thin brown wood and get a piece of plastic. Then put your hand on the piece of wood and at the end is about the right place where it should be. Next get a smaller piece of plastic and fold it so that the sides are equal then stick it down with brown tap. After that get a bigger piece than the smaller bit and stick it on how it was. Once we had finished our planes Room1 went out to fly and try them. Kerwin plane's was the best flyer out of Room1, his was amazing. When we have our planes we have to make sure that everything is 90o. I really liked my plane because it glided quite well.   by Emily

Raroa

Last Tuesday some kids from a school called Raroa Intermediate came to our school to show us some stuff that we can do when we get older. Some people did juggling, singing, hip hop dancing, the haka and some drumming.  There were three people riding uni-cycles they were doing jumps. There were juggling balls and skittles, choir singing, hip hop girls and a very loud band. I liked the juggling the best because the boys could juggle 3 and 4 balls as well as skittles. It was an incredible show.              by Daniel

Hiwi Kiwi Show

The sandpaper shark's tail flicked into my Nan's face, she flicked the slimy tail away and said oow! Some of my family were fishing along way from a beach with golden sand in my Grandad's boat that you can sleep in. I put it back in the water with a wet towel with sea water on it.
We only put snapper and other fish that were nice to eat in a bucket of salt water ice and my Mum caught a snapper with eggs. We put it back in the sea very slowly so we didn't hurt her. Everyone was wearing a lifejacket and we stayed on the boat for five nights and 6 days.
Make sure you leave fish for the future for other people to catch them!          by Charlotte
