School Disco

There was a loud disco at school in the Hall on Friday. I dressed up as Elsa and my cape can come off. We ate candy floss and it was yum and also sweet. My Mum came to the Disco and talked to me. She left to look after my puppy because he was alone. Then the bell rang and we went back to our class.
I would like another Disco at Brightwater School because it was fun and you could dance      by Brianna

Pets Day

Valerie Adams

It was an amazing Thursday! The Year Twos from four different schools went to see Valerie Adams at Saxtons Field.
We did some little games that were fun like balancing, hopping and jumping. Luca got to hold the Valerie Adam's Shot Put Gold Medal that she got at the Olympic Games and Jacob got to hold it too.
It was an exciting day because we played different games, were given yellow T-shirts that said "Get, Set, Go"and it was fantastic to be photographed with Valerie Adams.

Adam Paige

Today we watched a show, it was really noisy and the man's name was Adam Paige.
I kept blocking  my ears because it was too loud. I really liked the show, Adam was funny and he kept making funny noises. He really liked singing with people's names because he is a special singer. Adam might have been teaching people because he is really good at singing, that's why I think he teaches people. He was really annoying when he made funny noises.
Adam had been making up lots of songs, he likes singing and playing instruments.       by Rosa

Mask Parade

On Friday Room 1 went to the Mask Parade. We were wearing fire on our heads. The school practiced for 7 days before the parade. The actions were hand up and wave it down slowly as well as some singing.
I was tired by half way, a lot of work! I was sweating like a sheep because we were doing lots of actions. My buddy for the parade kept wanting to go to the toilet!
The best thing about the parade was staying out late and my Dad thought it was excellent.            By Lucy R

"Fun Time"

Wow! what strange but fun afternoon we had yesterday afternoon. It included sack races and a three legged race which was really tricky to do.

Ghana Dancers

 On Monday some Ghana people came to Brightwater School to give us a show. There were some huge drums, even there was one that said Wala (means life) on it and they did some crazy dancing. Then one of the men called up some teachers and kids and they did the instruments. The teachers also had to do some Ghana dancing which was interesting. I loved the show and I would like them to come again. Their show was amazing because of all the different drums.    by Jet    

Japanese Big Kids

On Tuesday some Japanese students came to our school to teach us origami with square coloured paper. Six students came to our class and I didn't do any origami. In the hall some of us tried on their costume before they did a fishing show that the Juniors watched. Then we did the first part of the dance and we would like them to come again.                     Lucy W and  Nikita

Zappy Zoomers

Yesterday my class made Zappy Zoomers. We used two bits of card there were long bits and short bits. We used tape and a

stapler to put it together. So how do you make it? 

I used the stapler and stapled the two bits of card together into a circle. After that I got four straws and put them inside, and outside the loops of card and taped them on! Then I was done! 

Next everyone went outside to see how far they could throw their Zappy Zoomer but when we threw them the fat end didn't go far so when we threw it. With the little end it went further because it was more streamlined.

Brightwater School Commonwealth Games

At school we had a Commonwealth Games day . My team was Nigeria. I liked the high jump, because you landed on a big, big mat. We got  600 points. I didn't get a medal. We had two people playing bagpipes at the start of ceremony. The Queen came in a car with Mr Baldwin and she read us a note about  the friendly games. It was a lot of fun.

Rapunzel

 Yesterday we had a show at school in the hall and it was Rapunzel. Some people were in the play but it  had a cow in it and his name was Simon the Cow but he had a show called X Factor. In the play there was a prince and the only way to get  Rapunzel's singing voice back was for him to kiss her. I liked the show because it was really funny.

Hangi

Brightwater School is going to have a hangi at lunch time and I can't wait. To make hangi food you have to make a hole but you have to put a fire at the bottom of the hole. The two men put dirt on the hole when the steam comes out so the food keeps cooking.
We are going to have the hangi food on the back court. It will be real yummy.

PJ party, class treat

On a sunny Tuesday Room One got a class treat because they got twenty marbles in the jar.
We had a fabulous party. Well a dress, PJ and plain party. There was clothes, Pj's, pirates, princesses, spiderman and a coach. I was wearing my littlest Pet Shop pyjamas and the background was pink, well dark pink. We watched the movie Tom and Jerry, and it was about a little mouse and a cat. We also had some popcorn and Brianna's Mum bought us some snake lollies.                           by Eden

School Cross Country

We had our cross country at Lord Rutherford Park and it was the Room 2 boys v Room 1 boys. It was also the Room 1 girls vs the Room 2 girls. I came 1st.
I was very tired at the end of the race. Leo was right behind me. It was a tough race and I had fast shoes on my feet but Jaxson over took Leo so Jaxson came second.  There were lots of fast people and I was happy that I won. I got an ice cream at home and Mum and Dad were very proud of me!
