Brightwater School Olympic Games

Last Friday our school held an Olympic Day, the country I was in was China which came third place in the medals.  I enjoyed high jump the second favourite was the bowling in the hall, my third favourite was wagon pull.  I  liked the wagon pull because there was cushions in the wagon, it was so soft.  The bowling was awesome, I got the cool bowling ball. You have to get the bowling ball into the circle. The leader of my group was Mrs Woodward. The colour of my flag was red and yellow. I also got face paint on me when I was doing weight lifting. At the end the people who got the medals had to stand up in front of everyone.

School Assembly

On Friday our class and Room 3 did the School Assembly, it was  about the Olympics. We marched in through the cones and waved our flags to the people in the hall. At the start we watched a video of people doing sports around New Zealand and it was called Inspiration. Ella was reading the poem, 'The Olympic Verb Race' and Gracie and me did the actions. Nico and Jed gave us gold medals. Our class sang the olympics waving flag song. I loved the song because it has the flags to wave. Children in our class read their sports and country information.
Room 3 did dancing to the song, The Best Day of My Life' and the big girls helped them. It was a really cool assembly and lots of fun.

Our Daily Walk to get to Rio

Room 1 walks or runs around the bike track 3 times. We used to go around two times. We do it everyday because we are pretending to walk to Rio.      Ben

Everyday the whole school is going around the bike track to see how far it is to Rio. Mr Baldwin writes it on his window. We will get fit and get a feeling how far it is to Rio.        Saul

Everyday before lunch we go running around the bike track, why? because it gives us an idea how far it is to Rio, and it also gives us fitness. We run around it three times and the whole school does it.
