On a rainy Monday that was today, we had a Powhiri in the hall. There were two ladies visitors who were girls. One of them spoke in Maori. We had to stand up three times to sing songs. The Middles and Seniors who went to Kapa Haka did a thing but I can't remember what it was called. It was good. Eden
Today Brightwater School had a Powhiri welcome. There were two ladies from Christchurch. One of them sang a song but when they came in there were two girls who sang the karanga call. After that, Brightwater School sang the school song, Wairama. The boys in the Kapa Haka group preformed the haka. I loved it, it was a great time. Jet
Hi Eden and Jet. The powhiri sounds like a lovely thing to be part of on a rainy day. I would have liked to have seen the Kapa Haka too. Have a great week. Arohanui - Mum (Andrea)
