Kiwisports

At Kiwisports today my favourite bit was the high steps but I keep falling off then I just got back on and I tried again and again.
We had an egg and spoon race and there were lots of adults and children from different schools at the Brightwater Domain.
It was lots of fun and it started to rain when we were finished the games so that was lucky.

Electronics Class Treat

This afternoon we had a great time playing with our electronic gadgets such as i-pads, remote control cars and tablets because we had earned another class treat. It was a really cool time at school.

Marshmellows

Yesterday Room 1 cooked marsh-mellows in the microwave for  one minute and it puffed up. When we took it out, it went hard and  it looked like a flat pancake. We all got a turn to stand on a chair and look at the  marsh-mellows in  the  microwave.     Brooke Leah

On Tuesday we did marsh-mellow dissolving in my group.  In the four cups there was vinegar, water, fizz and juice. We put it in the four cups and then we put a marsh-mellow in each one. The next day the marsh-mellow in the vinegar was gone because it has acid in it.       Sophia

The Variety Bash

Today the Variety Bash came to school.  The Variety Bash raises money to help children.
There were lots of different vehicles there.  There were fire engines, mini's and different sorts of trucks.
The whole school came to the front field to watch the Variety Bash.
We got lots of different sorts of lollies and goodie bags.  There were rings, a flag and tooth brushes.  I got a special badge that they only give one out at a school because I used my manners to say thank you.
Last Friday we had hot dog fundraiser, we raised $548.15 which we gave to the Variety Bash.
The Variety Bash has raised over $15,000,000 to help children in New Zealand.
My favourite part of the Variety Bash is when I got given my special badge.                        By Pippa

Vampire Slime

We made vampire slime. We got to play with it and it felt like jelly. We made it using a frying pan. We boiled the water and it was really hot. Then we added the red dye and the cornflour. The cornflour dissolved. It felt squishy and slimy and smooth. Mrs Roberts helped us a little bit with the slime. It stayed on our hands for a couple of days.
