Class Pool Party

Room 1 had a pool party with water guns. We had big rings, noodles and boards. Lots of children jumped in the pool. We went under the water and it was foggy underneath the water. Some kids squirted our teacher, Mrs Roberts with water pistols. We had fun diving in from the end of the pool.
The pool party was fun and we had it because we had 10 marbles in the jar for all the class working well.

Water Wheel

We are admiring the new Brightwater School Water Wheel and we can't wait to see it actually working. It looks amazing!
The Water Wheel is our school logo and it is on our sports Tshirts, certificates, newsletters, Values Wheel in our classrooms and signs about the school.
In the early 1900's a Water Wheel was used to operate a flour mill beside the Wairoa River which is very close to Brightwater School and that is why we have it as our logo. The wheel also represents the continuous learning through our lives.

Bradley's Creature

I did have that wasp but I think my Dad let it go.
I wish I brought the wasp to school again because Mrs Roberts deleted my photo of it!
(This picture is from the internet and we think it is the right one)
Bradley
My one did have two very, very long threads coming out of it's abdomen.

Inukshuk- Rock Person

I got my stones from off the road. We made Inukshuk men out of five rocks. We stacked our stones and Mrs Roberts hot glue gunned our men.We put varnish on it.  Charlie

On Friday I got my stones. I collected five stones. They were from my garden. The five stones are different and they are head, arms, body and two feet.
An Inukshuk means 'friendship and good luck.' We had to put it together. The Inuit people come from Canada.
We had to balance the stones and then Mrs Roberts with a hot glue gun and Mrs Roberts burnt her fingers. Today Mrs Roberts put varnish on them. On Friday we will make some boxes for our stone men.     Ashlee

On Friday we made little stone people and I got my stones from the beach. They have a body and a little head and our teacher hot glued them together. Then our teacher varnished them and they looked just like cool little people.       Harrison

We had a cool time during swimming on Friday, when we were playing with the noodles.
