Holiday Recounts

In the fantastic holiday we went for a 3 hour drive. We stayed for 5 fantastic Easter nights and we went fishing. We got 5 sharks and 1 cod and a sting ray.

Wow! This aqua taxi goes really fast it must be going about one hundred knots. It must have a powerful engine. It feels like we are going as fast as a rocket. When we got off we walked to large Torrent Bay. On the way back we had to take three aqua taxis back to Kaiteriteri. When we hopped on the third boat we had to be careful because both boats were out at the sparkly sea.

Problem Solving

On Friday we did a range of problem solving activities for Maths.

One of our activities involved estimating. We found out this means to think hard and make a sensible guess.

Our problem was: How many cubes does it take to make a 1 metre tall tower?

We estimated:

Marcus - 15 Kathryn - 60

Taine - 30 Matthew - 60

Haylee - 50 Liam - 50

Jarrad - 10

Then we measured and found the actual answer.

Results: It took 54 cubes to make a 1metre tall tower. None of us were correct but Liam and Haylee were the closest.
