Hiwi the Kiwi

Brightwater School had two special guests. They were helping schools learn about having fish in the future.
We learned to always wear a life jacket and bring a bucket of ice to keep the fish especially cold. Also bring a ruler to measure the fish.  If it's a snapper and it's under 27cm on the ruler then gently pick it up and let it go back in the salty sea.
The people that came to our school, their names were called Mr Minstrel and Mrs Minstrel. Mrs Minstrel showed the whole school same fancy dance moves.
People are not allowed to go down to the Marine Reserve because there's mummy fish that want to have their babies. Mr Minstrel sang us same amzing songs about pukekos and different fish.
If you accidentally fall into the sea and you have a flare, quickly get it and let it blast, then you are safe.
Please take care of your fish and don't catch too many. Fish have a shiny, scaly skin.

Please keep safe in the water!
